Validation Policy : Future Proofed Skills Testing
ISV constantly and continuously work with our clients to ensure that our tests are effective and meaningful. This feedback loop, together with our ability to change tests quickly and easily, means that our software is always evolving to help maximise the returns for our customers.
Focus on Performance-Based Testing
With many of our applications, Performance Based Testing is the only sensible solution. Knowledge is important in it's place, but to see how a candidate will perform under the stresses and strains of a working environment, Performance Based Testing is essential.
By simulating working environments, our software can help you test for exactly the skills you require.
Procedures
ISV tests measure a variety of core critical skills, knowledge and abilities required to perform specific jobs or tasks. Research and analysis of jobs are conducted on software application use, data entry tasks, typing, accounting, telephone skills, listening and keying clerical skills.
ISV in collaboration with its client's base continuously assesses the effectiveness and validity of the tests provided taking into account past tests and newly developed tests.
Performance-based testing reflects tasks, which candidates would perform in a real-world environment. That environment can be the same one in which a job-task is actually performed (i.e., asking a candidate for handle calls, requiring keying and listening skills or a simulation of a work environment or simulation of a software product in which a candidate is asked to perform an operation such as editing, saving, searching).
For purposes of testing skills, performance-based testing is usually superior to knowledge-based testing utilising traditional "linear" test items (such as multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank or matching items). For example, ability to consistently handle ongoing calls in terms of basic skills is best determined by observing one's actual performance rather than taking a written test.
